DARTMOOR FIRST AID and NAVIGATION WALKS
We deliver this combined skills course which incorporates a beautiful walk on Dartmoor, an Outdoor First Aid qualification and map reading/navigation tuition. We believe these courses particularly appeal to keen walkers and ramblers who want to be safer whilst out with family and friends. Providing the personal knowledge and skills to help deal with situations they may encounter.
The Walk... choose from a selection of circular walks which are tailored to suit the needs of people attending. All routes have breathtaking views and interesting features to see along the way. We also aim to go via or finish many of our walks within easy travelling distance of coffee and cake!

The First Aid... we offer a couple of different options with the first aid course. On the one day walk you can achieve the Basic Life Support qualification. The two day walk offers the more advanced Outdoor Emergency First Aid qualification.

The Navigation... whether you are a first timer learning the basics or a seasoned navigator, we can provide you with the appropriate skills for your level and get you sharper on your map reading, compass skills and general navigation.

The one day walk is £55.00 pp
The two day walk is £95.00 pp

The Haytor Circular. 8.5 km

This Haytor Circular walk incorporates some of the most magnificent Dartmoor tors, breathtaking views and ancient historical features.
There is a toilet stop on route and options to purchase coffee and cake near the Haytor visitor centre.
Along the way we deliver the first aid course syllabus at appropriate venues and learn about navigation throughout the walk.

Minimum equipment required... bring some lunch and water, sturdy walking footwear, warm clothing and a waterproof top. More detail will be sent out on initial enquiry.

We supply the maps, compasses and obviously all the first aid training equipment.
Other areas we use for our walks include...

- 8.5km. Princetown incorporating Foggintor Quarry, Swelltor Quarries and across to Black Tor and Hart Tor.
- 9.0km. Postbridge circular walk around Bellever Woods taking in Bellever and Laughter Tor, Laughter Hole and Riddon Ridge.

- 13km. Brent Moor starting from Shipley Bridge and up to Huntington Warren and back via the Avon Dam Reservoir.
